Reset Europe! Where do we go from here?

July 24 - August 07

2021

European Youth Weeks (EYW) is a project that aims to foster discussion and reflection on different topics. Together, we want to get an understanding of what the democratic process means at its core and how this should inform actual politics and public debate in our respective countries. We need to talk about democracy!

In the face of rising extremism and populism, where easy answers, finger pointing and agitation are replacing meaningful public debate, it’s time to take a new look at democracy.

If you think of democracy, probably the first thing that comes to mind is politics. But what does participating in a democracy imply, besides voting? How does technology and social media influence democracy? What role does democracy play in your daily life? Is it more than a political system? And what are the consequences of remaining indifferent?

EYW will bring together young people from 10 European countries over a two week period. Through this process we want to provide participants with information, new experiences, insights, as well as spaces for discussion and self-reflection on the topic of democracy.

Within those two weeks I felt the change on my character, my knowledge and my behaviour.
